Children are confident and show good levels of independence for their age, as a result of staff practice. They receive nurturing care and encouragement to explore their environment and engage in varied activities, which are based around their interests.

Children feel safe and secure in their relationships with staff. The strong key person system, built around effective settling-in arrangements, strengthens relationships with the children and their families and supports continuity between nursery and home life.

The setting is child-centred and well organised. Staff undertake thorough observations, which are reflected in the planning to meet the unique needs of every child. This ensures that every child makes good progress in their learning and development from their starting point.

Partnerships with parents are very well fostered, as staff work hard to ensure there is a joint approach to children's care and learning.

Welcome to Polka Day Care, set in the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea
on the fabulous North Norfolk Coast.

We are located on the Wells Primary School site; we operate completely independently of the school as an independent, not- for- profit charity. Polka Day Care was established as a playgroup in 1971, then expanded to include full day care in 2003 and became a Limited Company in 2012.

We provide a safe, stimulating, caring and homely environment for you and your children, where learning is fun!  We offer integrated childcare and education, through full day and sessional care, breakfast and after school care and a holiday club.

Our mission is to provide high quality, affordable integrated care and education for parents, carers and their children from the local community and the surrounding area.

Your child will be learning through play, gaining confidence and independence along the way, ensuring they get the best possible start to their lifelong learning journey.

We care for children aged from 3 months to 11 years and look forward to welcoming you and your family soon.

Polka Day Care employs a team of highly qualified and experienced staff and managed by an on- site manager and independent committee, comprising of parents and professionals.

We aim to provide a curriculum for children, through play experiences and opportunities, that will support and promote their overall development in a safe, stimulating and caring environment. We encourage and support children in becoming independent, confident and co-operative with positive attitudes and respect for others.
